What is freelance operations?

Freelance operations refer to professionals who manage and optimize business processes, workflows, and administrative tasks on a freelance or contract basis. These individuals help companies improve efficiency, streamline operations, and solve logistical challenges without being full-time employees. Their responsibilities can include project management, process improvement, vendor coordination, and reporting. Freelance operations specialists work with a variety of clients, adapting to different industries and needs as required.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a freelance operations professional?

To thrive as a Freelance Operations professional, you need strong organizational abilities, project management experience, and a solid understanding of operational workflows, often supported by a background in business or operations management. Familiarity with project management tools (like Asana or Trello), spreadsheets, and communication platforms (such as Slack or Zoom) is usually required. Excellent time management, adaptability, and proactive communication are crucial soft skills for managing multiple clients and shifting priorities. These competencies ensure efficient service delivery, client satisfaction, and sustainable business growth in a dynamic freelance environment.

Job description

Experience Without LimitsCome shape the future of brand experience.

At Jack Morton, we design and buildhead-turning, smile-inducing, impact-driving brand experiences that redefine what experiential marketing can achieve. We help our clientsunlock the full value of experiences by turning bold ideas into meaningful connections.

That takes a team that\'s bold, curious, and acts as one. We build on each other\'s ideas, challenge conventions, and show up for one another every day. Here, you\'ll do your best work, grow quickly, and partner across clients, disciplines, and global teams to bring new ideas to life.

This is a place where curiosity drives what\'s next, boldness raises the bar, and every win is shared. Where ownership is expected, egos are left at the door, and the work reflects the passion and talent of the people behind it.

Experience without limits- in your work, your growth, and your impact.

As an Executive Producer, you are a senior production leader with deep B2B conference experience and B2C experiential expertise. • Own the fiscal health of programs, including forecasting, budget tracking, and reconciliation
  • Oversee third-party costs, supplier engagements and freelance engagements
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of suppliers, negotiating specifications and ensuring high-quality delivery of goods and services
  • Review and approve 3rd party invoicing, ensuring accuracy and accountability against approved budgets
Post-Event Wrap-Up & Reporting
  • Compile and organize all project documentation, including final budgets, production schedules, and feedback from internal and external stakeholders
  • Support in developing post-event debriefs, highlighting key learnings, successes, and opportunities for improvement
