Job Summary

Ritz-Craft is currently accepting applications for an Engineering Manager to work as an integral part of our Design and Engineering Team. Qualified applicants must have the ability to communicate professionally and effectively and work well in a team environment for project collaboration and delivery from concept to production. As the Manager of Engineering, you will lead the team in completion of all design, engineering, and coordination of project schematic designs, drawing sets, subsets, and shop fabrication drawings for project success. Primary Responsibilities & Core Skillset

  • Leadership in communication on behalf of the engineering team.
  • Manage KPI's to meet speed of customer demands.
  • Develop high performing staff within the engineering team, committed to a shared value system of integrity and collaboration in all locations.
  • Developing and implementing quick response and flexible capabilities to satisfy demands of the Ritz-Craft team(s) for all locations.
  • Maintain Master Engineering Calendar for all phases of submittals and requested/required drawing sets for engagement with internal and external stakeholders for project success.
  • Establish & manage relationships with 3rd party services to assist with fluctuating request flow.
  • Work closely with 3rd party design and regulatory professionals.
  • Program development for preparation and development of 2D/3D CAD/BIM shop drawings and standards as needed for the team.
  • Manage and utilize CAD standards, Ritz-Craft design standards, and Ritz-Craft production standards for all HUD/MOD/COMMERCIAL project requests.
  • Manage and maintain Ritz-Crafts compliance and ongoing technology adoption for success.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and drawings on behalf of the Engineering team.
  • Lead collaboration with others in a team environment: Project Management, Procurement, Product Development, Sales, Customers, and the production teams for project success.
  • Be a leader in troubleshooting design concepts to help in complex issues that may come up that need to be solved within engineering. Offer design ideas and suggestions based on the client's needs and input where applicable.

Experience

  • 4 years directly managing teams in a design and/or engineering system
  • Knowledge of construction/drafting a must
  • Experienced software knowledge and use of AutoCAD and other design software systems for cross functional teams a must
  • Relevant knowledge of Architecture, Architectural Drafting, Engineering Technology, Fabrication and/or equivalent a must
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Leadership of & ability to build effective teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling as it relates to architectural building components strongly preferred
