Job description

Senior Landscape Architect/ Lead DesignerHigh End Residential Landscape Design | Jupiter, FL | Hybrid After Ramp Up

M. Hudson Design is hiring a Senior Landscape Architect to join our high end residential landscape design firm in Jupiter, Florida.

We are ideally looking for someone who is local to Jupiter, Palm Beach County, or the surrounding South Florida area. We are also open to candidates who are seriously willing to relocate to the Jupiter area.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with 5 to 7+ years of landscape architecture or high end residential landscape design experience who wants more ownership, more leadership, and more influence over the design process. We are looking for a hands on design leader who wants to mentor others, lead projects, and help shape the future of a growing firm.

This role is a fit for a licensed Landscape Architect, someone actively pursuing licensure, or an experienced landscape designer with the right background and ability to become licensed.

This is not a production only role. Our senior designers are supported by dedicated drafting and 3D graphics teams, so they can stay focused on design leadership, project quality, client vision, and mentoring.

Why This Role Stands Out

• High end residential design work in South Florida
• Senior design leadership role with real ownership
• Dedicated drafting and 3D graphics support
• Opportunity to mentor junior designers
• Direct collaboration with the owner
• Friendly, family based, trusting culture
• Hybrid flexibility after initial ramp up
• Path to broader leadership within the firm

About the Role

The Senior Landscape Architect will lead luxury residential landscape design projects while working closely with the owner and internal team.

You will guide the design process, mentor a junior designer, oversee freelance drafting and 3D graphics support, and help keep projects moving from concept through execution.

This person will directly lead a small design team and collaborate with a second design team as the company continues to grow.

What You’ll Do

• Lead high end residential landscape design projects
• Serve as the senior design lead for your team
• Mentor and support junior design talent
• Oversee drafting and 3D graphics production support
• Review plans, drawings, graphics, and design deliverables
• Participate in design meetings and project updates
• Collaborate closely with the owner on design direction
• Help improve design workflows, standards, and team communication
• Support the growth and leadership of the design team

What We’re Looking For

• 5 to 7+ years of landscape architecture or high end residential landscape design experience
• Local to Jupiter, Palm Beach County, or the surrounding South Florida area, or seriously open to relocating
• Strong experience in residential landscape architecture, luxury outdoor living, or estate design
• Licensed Landscape Architect preferred
• Open to candidates actively pursuing licensure or eligible to become licensed
• Ability to lead design work and mentor others
• Strong design eye and attention to detail
• Clear communication and follow through
• Comfortable in a fast moving, entrepreneurial environment
• Willing to be in office during the initial ramp up period

Work Structure

This is a hybrid role, but the first three months are expected to be in person at our Jupiter office. This allows the right person to learn the team, understand our process, build trust, and become fully integrated into the company.

After the initial ramp up period, the role can move into a hybrid structure for someone who has proven they can communicate well, lead effectively, and get the job done.

Culture

Our culture is friendly, family based, flexible, and built on trust. We do not micromanage strong people, but we do value accountability, ownership, communication, and being involved.

This role is best for someone who wants to lead, mentor, and be part of the company’s growth, not someone looking for a fully remote production role.

Apply

If you are a Senior Landscape Architect or experienced residential landscape designer who wants to lead, mentor, and take on more ownership in a high end residential design firm, we would love to connect.
