Position: 5G IOT/Lab Test Engineer (Overland Park, KS) Job Overview: We are seeking a 5G IOT/Lab Test Engineer to support carrier interoperability testing and validation of wireless devices across lab and field environments

This role will be responsible for executing detailed carrier test plans, coordinating with network engineers, analyzing cellular logs, tracking issues through resolution, and communicating testing status and critical defects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with LTE/5G NR testing, carrier IOT, cellular logging tools, and device validation. This is a W2 contract position and is not eligible for C2C or W2 referral candidates.

Key Responsibilities: Review and interpret carrier interoperability test plans, including detailed technical requirements and execution criteria. Execute 4G/LTE and 5G feature test plans on wireless devices, ensuring all test steps and requirements are completed accurately. Collaborate closely with network engineers to verify required network parameters, configurations, and test procedures.

Perform basic cellular log analysis to evaluate test results and determine pass/fail status. Utilize device testing and logging tools to capture, analyze, and troubleshoot test results. Identify, document, and track defects and issues through full resolution and closure.

Communicate critical issues, failures, and bugs to internal teams in real time to support timely resolution. Compile and distribute testing status reports on a twice-daily cadence, providing clear visibility into execution progress, results, and open issues. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address testing challenges and maintain execution schedules.

Support both laboratory and field-based carrier interoperability testing. Maintain accurate test documentation, results, issue tracking, and execution records. Travel approximately 10-20% to support testing activities and customer/carrier requirements.

Support flexible work schedules and shift assignments based on testing priorities and project needs. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 2+ years of relevant experience in wireless device testing, cellular testing, network validation, or a related field.

Hands-on experience with device testing and cellular logging tools such as: o Shannon-DM o TEMS o QXDM o ELT o Accuver XCAP o Similar wireless testing/logging platforms Hands-on experience executing carrier test plans for laboratory and/or field Interoperability Testing (IOT). Working knowledge of LTE and 5G NR, including NSA and SA architectures. Basic understanding of cellular KPIs, signaling, IMS, and call flows.

Ability to interpret test results and perform basic troubleshooting using cellular logs. Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently execute highly structured technical test procedures. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
