Job description

Job Title: Test Technician
Client: Medical Device Manufacturing Company
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Location: Minneapolis, MN 55432
Shift: 1st Shift
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and fatigue testing on medical device products.
  • Execute laboratory test plans and verify product performance against specifications.
  • Document, analyze, and communicate test results to engineering teams.
  • Support test method validation, equipment qualification, and software validation activities.
  • Assist in developing and documenting testing procedures and methods.
  • Set up, operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain laboratory test equipment.
  • Assemble test fixtures, production equipment, and prototype assemblies from engineering designs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and replace or adjust components as required.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment.
  • Interpret schematics, diagrams, and work instructions to perform testing activities.
  • Maintain accurate technical records and testing documentation.
  • Support quality verification activities and recommend process improvements.
  • Provide guidance to entry-level technicians when required.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of technician experience.
  • Vocational or technical education/certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience operating laboratory and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience in a laboratory or product testing environment.
  • Knowledge of scientific testing methods and laboratory procedures.
  • Experience building prototype fixtures and test setups.
  • Familiarity with Instron or MTS testing systems.
  • Experience with Instron Bluehill, MTS/TestWorks, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using microscopes and X-ray inspection equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience interpreting test data and supporting product validation activities.
