Description The essential function of the position within the organization is to coordinate, schedule, and oversee golf and non-golf events utilizing all venues at the Sevierville Golf Club. Venues include but are not limited to: Two 18 Hole golf courses, Outdoor Pavilion, Covered Range, Appalachian Room, and any other associated facilities. Events include but are not limited to golf tournaments, private events, and non-golf events.

The position is responsible for coordinating with guests, event contacts, and internal golf course divisions to ensure events are scheduled, communicated, fulfilled, and billed in a manner that supports the overall operation of the golf course. This position reports to the Head Golf Professional / Assistant Director of Golf. Summary of Duties Promotes outside golf tournaments, outings, private events, corporate events, social events, and venue rentals at The Sevierville Golf Club.

Serves as the primary point of contact for outside tournaments, groups, event organizers, private parties, and non-golf venue rental inquiries from initial contact through final billing. Meets with prospective event clients, determining the event needs, available dates, facility requirements, food and beverage needs, golf needs, room setup, pricing, and other event expectations. Coordinates and communicates details with Golf Operations, Outside Services, Food and Beverage and Maintenance to schedule events during appropriate times based on seasonal demand, tee sheet availability, staffing levels, pace of play, facility capacity, and the overall guest experience.

Coordinates food and beverage needs for outside tournaments, outings, private parties, venue rentals, and special events, including communication of menus, counts, timing, setup needs, and service expectations. Develops and maintains event files, calendars, checklists, setup sheets, billing records, and post-event notes to ensure consistent communication and follow-through. Assists with setup coordination, event day communication, signage, staging, guest direction, and other operational needs related to tournaments and events.

Monitors event execution and guest satisfaction before, during, and after events, and follows up with event contacts as needed. Promotes The Sevierville Golf Club, Eagle's Nest Covered Range, Outside Pavilion, and available event venues through professional relationships, community contacts, tourism partners, lodging partners, and other appropriate marketing opportunities. Cultivates and maintains professional relationships with local businesses, hotels, tourism partners, civic organizations, tournament organizers, and event planners.

Attends or conducts staff and professional meetings to exchange information. May be asked to attend training and professional classes, seminars, or conferences to improve technical or professional skills or promote the tournament, Group, or event sales goals. Work schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event programming and operational needs.

May serve as Person to Close (PTC) when assigned, providing supervisory coverage and end-of-day operational oversight for the facility. This position is required to perform related and other duties as required or requested by the Head Professional/Assistant Director of Golf. Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Education requirements refers to job specific training and education required for entry into the position.

Requires formal education, experience, or training equivalent towards graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Business Administration, Business Communication, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Recreation Management, Sport Management, or a related field. A combination of education, training, and related experience may be substituted for the minimum education requirement. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Licenses, certifications, and registrations refers to professional, state, or federal licenses, certifications, or registrations required to enter the position.

Requires a valid Tennessee driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. Additional certifications related to hospitality, event management, food and beverage, alcohol service, customer service, or golf operations are preferred but not required. A Tennessee TABC Serving Permit is required within 60 days after starting.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience refers to the amount of work experience that is required for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the tasks required by the position. Must have a working knowledge of golf operations, tournaments, group outings, event scheduling, facility rentals, food and beverage coordination, customer relations, and basic billing procedures. Experience with public golf facilities, resorts, municipal operations, banquet facilities, or tourism-based businesses is preferred.

Upon hiring, city employees are automatically enrolled in the TN Consolidated Retirement System.
