Our automated network management products and services empower mobile operators to accelerate network transformation and to drive network quality and efficiency on the path to 5G. These solutions have been deployed by 87 mobile network operators in 60 countries worldwide.

We are seeking an Ericsson Principal RNO Consultant for an onsite or Remote role in the Africa region.

Job Description:

  • Work closely with customer optimization teams and management for network performance improvement projects
  • Ability to learn proprietary optimization tool processes and methods and increase customer exposure to products
  • Perform KPI Trend Analysis and determine performance deviations
  • Worst Cell Identification and Root Cause Analysis
  • Perform Parameter Audits and Inconsistency Checks to determine fine-tuning suggestions
  • Coverage and Footprint Optimization using OSS and DT tools
  • Data Throughput Troubleshooting and Optimization
  • Investigate drive test logs for initial tuning, optimization and troubleshooting (analyze call flow and layer3 messages)
  • Baseband and Radio Resource Capacity Optimization
  • CSFB, SRVCC optimization, parameter audits inconsistency checks between Radio Access Technologies (2G / 3G / 4G / 5G)
  • Volte optimization
  • Perform parametric optimization for effective load balance between LTE Carriers and existing technologies in accordance with operator strategy
  • Tuning of LTE Radio network features
  • Understand fundamentals of PCI/RSI Planning and Mobility Robustness Optimization and perform planning and optimization tasks related with these topics
  • VoLTE Troubleshooting / SIP Analysis
  • End-user / customer problem investigation
  • Prepare and issue technical guidelines and results of technical studies
  • Prepare and issue engineering level and executive-level reports
  • Liaise with P.I. Works Project Management and the customer to meet the targets of ongoing and future projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma from Engineering Departments relevant to Mobile Telecommunications
  • Min 8 years RAN design and optimization experience (LTE /3G/GSM)
  • Min 3 years (recent) working knowledge and experience in LTE/VoLTE/5G optimization
  • Radio Network Optimization Experience with Ericsson
  • Experienced in last Ericsson RAN releases
  • Must have an excellent customer relationship with both verbal and written communication skills
  • Project handling experience with tight deadlines will be preferred
  • Understanding of radio network alarms and their effects
  • Hands-on experience in trace analysis is required
  • Very good knowledge on 5G/4G/3G/2G key performance indicators (KPIs) for both OSS and Drive Test
  • Strong experience with Multi-Carrier - Multi-Band networks
  • Focusing on user perceived quality (not only KPIs)
