OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Fox Corporation
Under the FOX banner, we produce and distribute content through some of the world's leading and most valued brands, including: FOX News Media, FOX Sports, FOX Entertainment, FOX Television Stations and Tubi Media Group. We empower a diverse range of creators to imagine and develop culturally significant content, while building an organization that thrives on creative ideas, operational expertise and strategic thinking.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Freelance Editorial Advisor to partner with Commerce leadership and our editorial team to help lead the next phase of our Commerce editorial strategy and organization.
This person will bring editorial leadership, strategic thinking, and hands-on guidance to help shape our content strategy, strengthen our editorial approach, and identify new opportunities for audience and business growth.
Working closely with Commerce leadership and the existing editorial team, this role will help set editorial priorities, evolve our content portfolio, strengthen workflows and ways of working, and help define the capabilities and organizational structure needed to support our strategy.
This is a highly collaborative leadership role. We are looking for someone who can quickly become a trusted partner to the team-bringing experience, perspective, and clear editorial direction while helping the organization execute against a forward-looking strategy.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading editorial teams and developing content strategies within commerce, service journalism, digital publishing, lifestyle, consumer media, or a related field.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITES
  • Partner closely with Commerce leadership and the editorial team to help set editorial direction and priorities.
  • Provide editorial leadership, and guidance to the team.
  • Help translate broader Commerce goals into clear editorial priorities and initiatives.
  • Work across editorial, audience, business, and other cross-functional teams to strengthen alignment and collaboration.
  • Establish clear principles and ways of working that enable the team to execute effectively.
  • Help shape the next phase of the Commerce content strategy, including deals and sales coverage, evergreen service content, and other commerce formats.
  • Identify opportunities to broaden and diversify the content portfolio and reduce reliance on a limited number of formats.
  • Develop new content concepts, franchises, and approaches that can deepen audience engagement and support growth.
  • Help strengthen and evolve the editorial voice, positioning, and value proposition of Commerce content.
  • Develop approaches that reinforce authority, usefulness, differentiation, and audience trust.
  • Help define what should distinguish our Commerce editorial experience in a competitive marketplace.
  • Work with leadership and the editorial team to strengthen workflows, planning processes, and publishing cadence.
  • Provide recommendations for how the team and organizational structure should evolve to support growth.
  • Develop a clear, prioritized editorial roadmap for the next phase of Commerce.

We are looking for an experienced editorial leader who can combine strong editorial instincts with strategic thinking, organizational leadership, and a deep understanding of digital audiences.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading editorial teams and developing content strategies within commerce, service journalism, digital publishing, lifestyle, consumer media, or a related field.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Significant experience in editorial leadership roles.
  • A track record of leading and developing high-performing editorial teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, senior leaders, and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to quickly establish trust and credibility within an existing team and organization.
  • Highly collaborative leadership style, with the ability to bring people together, build alignment, and move teams toward shared goals.
  • Deep expertise in digital publishing and audience-focused content strategy.
  • Experience with commerce, affiliate, service journalism, or consumer-focused editorial content.
  • Strong editorial judgment and a clear point of view on what makes content distinctive, useful, authoritative, and trusted.
  • Experience developing new content formats, franchises, or editorial products.
  • Experience evolving editorial workflows, team structures, and ways of working.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • The ability to quickly build trust and provide direction within an established team.
  • A collaborative, hands-on approach and comfort operating in a fast-moving environment.
