Here is what you need to know about the job:
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Stockings & Hosiery Designer to support one of our key Private Label customers. This role is responsible for designing trend-right, commercially driven stockings and hosiery collections while partnering closely with Product Development, Sales, Merchandising, and overseas teams throughout the product development process. The designer will support seasonal development from concept through customer presentations, sample development, and final execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design seasonal collections for stockings and hosiery categories.
  • Research fashion trends, colors, materials, yarns, patterns, and consumer insights to develop customer-focused assortments.
  • Create CADs, technical sketches, artwork, colorways, and presentation boards for customer meetings.
  • Develop products that align with the customer's brand identity, target retail pricing, and quality standards.
  • Partner with Product Development, Merchandising, and overseas factories throughout the sample development process.
  • Review prototypes and sample submissions and provide design comments to ensure fit, appearance, construction, and quality meet customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage seasonal calendars and ensure timely execution of product development milestones.
  • Support customer presentations and respond to design revisions and feedback throughout the development process.
  • Stay current on fashion trends, competitive retail offerings, and innovations within the stockings and hosiery market.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of design experience in stockings, hosiery, tights, pantyhose, or related legwear categories.
  • Experience designing for Private Label retail customers.
  • Strong understanding of hosiery construction, yarns, knitting techniques, and product development.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and seasonal deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation/Benefits:
  • The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00 per hour. The offered hourly rate for this position will vary based on role requirements, skill set and years of experience.
