Job description

Facilities Technician – Afternoon Shift

Pay: $24.00-$29.00/hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm

**Must be available to train on morning shift during training period: Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

What You’ll Do

  • Inspect all areas of the facility daily to identify problems with system failures, structural damages or breakages
  • Respond to requests for maintenance services, including repairs to locks, utilities, and general facility fixtures, as well as furniture assembly and installation
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks including minor plumbing, drywall repair, and light carpentry
  • Maintain all restrooms by ensuring that hands-free faucets, stalls and paper dispensers are working properly
  • Test and monitor appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, and microwaves to ensure proper performance
  • Maintain the exterior of the property by keeping parking lots and sidewalks clear of standing water, litter, and debris
  • Assist with painting and general upkeep of facility spaces
  • Monitor and adjust HVAC units and Building Automation Systems
  • Oversee third-party contractors for specialized services like pest control, elevator servicing or other major repairs
  • Track, document and close out repair tickets using building maintenance software (CMMS)
  • Respond to facility-related emergencies, such as power, compressed air, water outages, and fire alarm triggers

 

What Helps You Succeed

  • Demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance and repairs
  • Experience working with hardware tools and electrical equipment
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
  • Basic math skills (basic algebra, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages)
  • Basic computer literacy (navigating websites, accessing email and ability to log into company systems)
  • Forklift certification or experience an asset
