About CUENTO

CUENTO is a creative marketing agency built at the intersection of sports, culture, and brand storytelling. We create strategic, emotionally resonant work for brands, organizations, and teams across sports, enterprise, hospitality, lifestyle, and consumer categories.

Our client roster includes both sports and enterprise brands, requiring creatives who are adaptable, collaborative, and capable of working across a wide range of visual styles, audiences, and business objectives. Sports-related work is a significant part of our creative output, making this role especially well-suited for someone energized by high-visibility campaigns, fast-moving timelines, and culturally relevant storytelling.

Job Summary

CUENTO is hiring a Project Manager to keep our marketing work on time, on scope and organized across a portfolio of client accounts. This role is the connective tissue between strategy, creative and execution – tracking deliverables, managing timelines and making sure nothing falls through the cracks as work moves across marketing, email, advertising, web, creative and account teams.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, calm under pressure and comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders. You’ll partner closely with account leads, marketers, web developers and creatives to keep projects moving, flag risks early and keep everyone aligned on status and next steps.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables and status across multiple client accounts
  • Build and maintain project trackers, calendars and workback schedules
  • Coordinate handoffs between account, creative, email, advertising web and e-commerce teams
  • Run or support internal check-ins to review status, blockers and upcoming deadlines
  • Track scope against budgeted hours and flag potential overages to account leads
  • Ensure deliverables are reviewed, approved, and delivered on schedule
  • Maintain organized project documentation: briefs, timelines, feedback, and version tracking
  • Identify workflow bottlenecks and recommend process improvements
  • Support new project intake: scoping timelines, identifying needed resources
  • Communicate proactively with internal teams on project status and risk
Requirements
  • 3–5 years of project management experience, ideally in a marketing or agency setting
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Comfortable using project management tools (Wrike, Asana, Monday or similar)
  • Clear, proactive communicator across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to track scope, budget, and timelines with accuracy
  • Calm, solutions-oriented approach to shifting priorities and tight deadlines
  • Experience working across multiple client accounts or brands
  • PMP or similar certification a plus, not required

CUENTO is an equal opportunity employer. This part-time, freelance position is remote with the opportunity to work in the office in San Diego.
