Job description

Pay: $27-$31 per hour

Location: Springfield, MO

The Role

This role supports dimensional and visual inspection activities for incoming materials, in-process components, and final assemblies in a manufacturing environment. The position assists with measurement setup, data collection, inspection documentation, and equipment care while developing proficiency in GD&T, precision measurement, CMM operation, portable metrology, and 3D scanning technologies.
The individual will work closely with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to ensure inspection accuracy, maintain traceable records, and support CSIs commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

What Youll Do

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections of incoming materials, fabricated components, and finished assemblies while maintaining accurate inspection records
  • Assist with CMM operation, portable metrology equipment, FARO arm measurements, and 3D scanning activities when trained and authorized
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T requirements to support inspection activities
  • Support calibration, traceability, measurement system analysis (MSA), and Gage R&R activities while maintaining inspection equipment records
  • Organize inspection data, prepare dimensional reports, and assist with nonconformance investigations and corrective actions
  • Learn and support weld inspection, PMI testing, blueprint interpretation, and Level II Inspector development requirements

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Welding and/or related trade school training, preferred
  • Coursework or training in dimensional inspection, manufacturing, quality, blueprint reading, or metrology, preferred
  • Blueprint reading experience, preferred
  • Experience using inspection tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and height gages
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and precision measurement techniques
  • Exposure to CMM operation, PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar inspection software, preferred
  • Exposure to FARO arms, portable metrology systems, Creaform MetraSCAN, or 3D scanning technologies, preferred
  • Basic knowledge of PolyWorks or willingness to learn metrology software required
  • GTAW welding experience, helpful

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on manufacturing environment.

  • Youll be on your feet, moving between projects and teams
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping throughout the shift
  • Lifting and moving materials up to 75 lbs. with assistance
  • Use of close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception for detailed inspection work
  • Exposure to welding, fabrication, and manufacturing environments, including power tools and shop equipment
  • Required use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear
