Job description

About Us: Spreedly is the world's leading Open Payments Platform. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Durham, NC, the company gives mid-market and enterprise businesses the infrastructure to connect to any payment gateway, processor, or fraud tool through a single API. The platform is vendor-agnostic by design, meaning customers are never locked into a single provider and never need to rebuild their payments stack to access new capabilities.

The core business problem Spreedly solves is real and costly: global merchants face a fragmented payments ecosystem, where every new market, payment method, or fraud tool typically requires a separate, time-consuming integration. Spreedly eliminates that complexity, enabling companies to route transactions intelligently, secure cardholder data, prevent fraud, and expand into new markets without heavy engineering overhead.
Product Offering:

Spreedly provides an open payments platform. The platform's connectivity provides payments performance. Key products and services include:

Connect - A unified API that integrates with hundreds of payment gateways, processors, and alternative payment methods worldwide, including digital wallets. Merchants access the global payments ecosystem through one connection.
Vault - A PCI-compliant secure repository for payment methods. Merchants store card data once and reuse it across any payment service, reducing PCI scope and protecting cardholder data at scale.
Optimize - Workflow-driven routing and retry logic that directs each transaction to the best-performing gateway in real time. On average, 7.9% of failed transactions succeed immediately when retried on a secondary gateway. This is where merchants recover lost revenue and increase authorization success rates.
Protect - A flexible fraud and authentication layer, incorporating advanced fraud tools and 3DS. Following Spreedly's acquisition of Dodgeball in September 2025, fraud orchestration and payment optimization now operate within the same platform.
Resolve - Centralized management and reporting that reduces operational silos, strengthens security, and improves billing control across a merchant's entire payment operation.

What It's Like to Work Here: We describe our team as "Spreedlings": diverse, forward-thinking, and driven by a shared belief that a more open payments ecosystem benefits everyone. The company operates with a culture built on transparency, courageous collaboration, and self-driven leadership. The team values simplicity in both product and process, and approaches problem-solving with genuine curiosity.

About the Role:

We're looking for a Senior IT Administrator to strengthen day-to-day IT operations and help lead our data loss prevention (DLP) program. This is a hands-on role for someone who can solve technical problems, communicate clearly with the business, and take ownership of programs that span Enterprise IT and Security.

You'll own and improve core areas, including endpoint administration, DLP monitoring and policy management, software lifecycle support, vulnerability remediation, and identity and access management (IAM) administration. You'll also support the end-user services team with onboarding, offboarding, and device provisioning as needed, while creating more capacity for the team to take on strategic projects.

This is a hybrid role based in our HQ in Durham, North Carolina. Candidates are expected to work in-person two days a week at our downtown Durham office.

Responsibilities:
  • Own the day-to-day operation and continued development of the data loss prevention (DLP) program, including implementation follow-through, alert monitoring, incident triage, policy tuning, refinement, and documentation.
  • Serve as the directly responsible individual and internal subject-matter expert for DLP tooling and processes.
  • Administer and improve Nightfall policies, investigate potential data-exfiltration alerts, and partner with the Security Team on appropriate responses.
  • Help manage the SquareX Browser Detection and Response tool and related controls that support the secure use of browsers, AI tools, and company data.
  • Administer Jamf and support endpoint management, patching, and workstation health across the organization.
  • Own the remediation of workstation vulnerabilities identified through tools such as CrowdStrike, including coordinating directly with end users when action is required.
  • Support software lifecycle management as work transitions from vendor management tooling (Tropic) to IT, including SSO setup and user provisioning.
  • Provide backup support for Okta administration and contribute to reliable identity and access operations.
  • Assist with end-user services, including onboarding, offboarding, device provisioning, ticket support, and other operational needs.
  • Troubleshoot unfamiliar technical issues methodically, communicate progress clearly, and follow through to resolution.
  • Identify thoughtful ways to use AI within IT to improve processes, enable colleagues, and support secure adoption across the organization.
  • Build productive relationships across Enterprise IT, Security, PeopleOps, Legal/Compliance, and the wider business, translating technical risks and decisions for different audiences.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of broad IT administration experience across endpoint operations, identity and access, software provisioning, patching, and user support.
  • Strong experience administering Jamf and supporting managed endpoints.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work through unfamiliar problems, even when the answer is not immediately clear.
  • Experience taking ownership of operational programs, including monitoring, documentation, continuous improvement, and cross-functional coordination.
  • The judgment to triage incidents, work effectively under pressure, and adapt as priorities change.
  • Clear business communication skills - the ability to explain technical topics, risks, and tradeoffs to nontechnical partners, including executives.
  • A track record of accountability, including speaking up, learning from mistakes, and following through on commitments.
  • Curiosity and the ability to learn new systems quickly, rather than relying on experience with every tool in our environment.
  • A collaborative, low-ego, team-first approach to working closely with Enterprise IT and Security colleagues.
We Offer Our US-based Employees:
  • Competitive salary + Equity
  • Outstanding Medical and Dental benefits, including 100% employer-paid options
  • Company-paid Life and Disability insurance
  • Optional vision and supplemental insurance options, and various Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • Open Paid Time Off policy + 12 weeks of paid leave for new parents
  • Matching 401(k) plan (5% up to $5,000 yearly)
  • Monthly home working/digital lifestyle stipend, new MacBook, and one-time accessory reimbursement
  • $1,000 annual professional development stipend
  • Access to company-paid professional coaching service
  • Visits to HQ in Durham, North Carolina for remote employees
#LI-DNI

We champion the ethical, creative use of AI-if you're someone who pairs human judgment with modern AI tools to work smarter and drive bigger impact, you'll thrive here.

Spreedly is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. We actively work to drive out even unintentional discrimination in our hiring processes via practices like blindly graded work samples, structured interviews, and diversity awareness training.

Due to the sensitive nature of what Spreedly does - handling payment data - finalist candidates must complete a successful background and reference check.

At this time Spreedly is unable to provide sponsorship for employment, and we are not set up to support remote employees who reside in New York. In order to be considered for employment, applicants must be currently legally authorized to work in the job location country and not require future sponsorship in order to continue working in that country.

We appreciate your interest in our company. Because of the high volume of resume flow, we may only respond to those candidates that we think will be a potential fit.
