Are you looking for a position where you can make a difference? Fort HealthCare is seeking Patient Support Assistants to assist on our patient care units. These non-licensed team members will assist with:
Acting as one-on-one companions for patients needing continuous observation

The Patient Support Assistant provides supportive services to assist patient care units.
Responsibilities of this position include:
  • Provide constant supervision, maintains visual contact, and ensures safety of the patient who is at high risk for harm. This includes an awareness of patient activity at all times, including when patient is in the room, hallway, bathroom, or off the unit, and when family/visitors are present.
  • Provides companionship and ensures a safe environment to the patient who is at high risk for falls, exhibits signs of confusion, and/or is cognitively delayed
  • Assists with feeding and meals, as directed by clinical staff
  • Notifies clinical staff of unsafe or concerning behaviors or language
  • Assist clinical staff with other responsibilities as assigned by nursing staff/leadership

Requirements for this position include:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Experience working with patients living with dementia required
  • Able to read, speak, write and understand English. Demonstrates safety awareness, good judgment and the ability to learn. Able to retain training concepts with supervision. Adaptable to change and effective use/management of time. Able to relate well with others.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
