Wieland is hiring a Machine Operator. The Machine Operator I, will be responsible for operating equipment in the forging and machining production areas. This role is located in Montpelier, OH and will be fully on-site.
Starting Pay: $24.51
Schedule: Mon-Thur. 6p - 6a; & Mon-Wed. 6p - 6a
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Responsibilities
Machine Operator Responsibilities:
  • Work safely and promote the safety of those working around you; help build a proactive safety culture
  • Meet Forgeworks' customers' demand by operating the forging, cleaning, and machining equipment including:
    • Job setup - tool assembly and installation
    • Running the job following JSWPs and quality processes
    • Clean up and preparation for the next job
  • Meet or exceed the quality expectations of the customer as defined by the Engineering and Quality organizations by following the quality process:
    • Periodic part inspection
    • Participate in root cause analysis
  • Meet or exceed financial targets by achieving operating performance targets such as yield and operating efficiency
  • Additional Accountabilities:
    • Read and interpret dimensional layouts when needed
    • Adhere to ISO 9001 and NSF standards
    • Perform operator based preventative maintenance.
    • Shipping, receiving and utility work
    • Process audits
    • Sorting product needed for shipment

Machine Operator Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating machinery preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to operate a forklift - training provided
  • Able to lift 30 pounds
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Problem solving skills / critical thinker
  • Desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing manufacturing processes
