Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Deco Operator to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize decorating equipment used in the can manufacturing process. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality printed graphics and color consistency while maintaining efficient production and minimizing downtime.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and experience working in a manufacturing or printing environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Operation & Maintenance
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot decorating equipment, including Concord 36MRT Decorators and pin chain ovens
  • Monitor equipment performance to ensure safe and efficient production
  • Perform routine inspections, adjustments, and preventive maintenance activities
  • Respond quickly to equipment issues and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime
Print Quality & Production
  • Set up and run printed production jobs on decorating equipment
  • Ensure accurate image registration, print alignment, and color matching to customer specifications
  • Monitor product quality throughout production runs
  • Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators, to verify specifications and equipment performance
  • Identify and resolve print quality concerns, registration issues, and production defects
Safety & Compliance
  • Conduct routine safety inspections of assigned equipment and work areas
  • Follow company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support continuous improvement and workplace safety initiatives
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to achieve operational goals
  • Communicate equipment performance issues and improvement opportunities
  • Assist with additional production and maintenance tasks as needed
QualificationsRequired Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to identify fine print details and diagnose image registration issues

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior printing, decorating, or graphic production experience
  • Experience operating industrial manufacturing equipment

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational training, technical certification, or an associate degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a mechanical, machine operator, or equipment maintenance role
  • Printing or can decorating experience strongly preferred
