Job description

Position Summary

Entry-level position in the Forge Department. This job classification can promote to Forge Machine Operator, Metal Parts Finisher, Production Saw Operator, or other machine operator position.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Count parts
  • Clean work area
  • Grind metal parts
  • Load/unload sand blaster
  • Operate furnace (load/unload)
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Technical Skills

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Ability to read production instructions in English.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand up to three hours at a time and during an 8-10 hours shift.
  • Must be able to sit, bend, twist, stoop, reach overhead.
  • Uses hands to grind metal parts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a heated environment.
