Foreign exchange student coordinators work to find host families for international students coming to the US to study for a short period. In this career, your responsibilities are primarily within the realm of supporting the student and the host family through the academic year or semester during which the student is participating in the study abroad program. This role can mean acting as a mediator if troubles arise, selecting a family with similar interests or similarly aged children to host the student, and encouraging activities that allow the student to see and experience more of the culture in the area in which they are staying.
