Job description

$500 paid out after 6 months of employment ( external candidates ) Are you a hands-on problem solver with a knack for maintenance, organization, and leadership? Do you enjoy working behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly? The Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op is looking for a Facilities Coordinator to help ensure our store and grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained for staff, customers, and the community.What You'll Do:Oversee and perform maintenance and repair of store equipment and systemsCoordinate with outside contractors for services like snow removal, landscaping, and pest controlMonitor and maintain safety, cleanliness, and compliance across the store and groundsOperate equipment such as forklifts and balers safely and efficientlyKeep accurate records, help develop preventative maintenance schedules, and innovate solutions to improve our facilitiesSupport staff, provide excellent service, and contribute to a positive work cultureWhat We're Looking For:Building maintenance experience and strong mechanical aptitudeAbility to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environmentExcellent communication and customer service skillsFamiliarity with tools, equipment, and safety practicesComfortable working indoors, outdoors, and at heights or in tight spacesAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly, stand for long periodsPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of refrigeration and mechanical systemsForklift or heavy equipment experienceFamiliarity with natural foods and interest in food systemsAt the Co-op, we're committed to supporting a vibrant local economy, sustainability, and community learning.
