POSITION OVERVIEW


We are seeking a motivated and reliable Operational Key Account Manager - Trucking to join our domestic transportation team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly and promptly, and enjoys building strong relationships with carriers and internal teams. Successful candidates are strong negotiators, proactive problem-solvers, and positive team players.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Source and negotiate rates with carriers to move domestic freight efficiently
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries while ensuring on-time performance
  • Respond to emails, calls, and messages in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain clear communication with customers, carriers, and internal teams
  • Resolve issues such as delays, detention, and scheduling changes proactively
  • Track shipments and provide real-time updates as needed
  • Build and maintain strong carrier relationships
  • Support team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment


EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
  • Timely email and phone response habits
  • Positive attitude with a team-first mindset
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Basic understanding of domestic trucking operations (preferred)
  • Experience in freight brokerage or domestic trucking
  • Familiarity with load boards and TMS platforms
  • Knowledge of common equipment types (dry van, flatbed, reefer, etc.)
  • Customer service or logistics background


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Safely and successfully performs the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged period of time in office environment, desk setting
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
