The Quality Assurance Intern will support the QA team in ensuring that products meet company and industry standards. This internship offers hands-on experience in a food manufacturing environment (or substitute relevant industry), providing exposure to quality systems, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong knowledge of plant floor activities
- Identify and proactively plan for process/system improvement
- Assist with daily quality checks on raw materials, in-process, and finished goods
- Collect and analyze data related to quality metrics
- Support the maintenance of QA documentation, including SOPs and inspection records
- Perform environmental monitoring, swabbing, and other microbiological sampling as required
- Assist in investigating non-conformances and implementing corrective actions
- Help with audits and inspections (internal, customer, or regulatory)
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and quality improvement projects
- Support the calibration and maintenance of QA equipment
- Follow all safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Assist with creating, training, and Testing Copilot Agents for various Food Quality/Food Safety Tasks.
- Align SOP program with industry standards and attain intracompany program alignment
Required:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail, documentation, and organizational skills
- Basic understanding of quality systems and laboratory practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Previous internship or lab experience is a plus
- Practical application of quality assurance procedures in a manufacturing setting
- Exposure to regulatory and customer requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, SQF, BRC)
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques
- Importance of cross-functional collaboration in delivering safe, high-quality products
