Job Overview:

The FSQA HACCP Leader is responsible for assisting in ensuring the highest standards of product safety, while meeting customer expectations and regulatory requirements. This role will maintain the HACCP Food Safety system, lead and maintain Food Safety & HACCP Training, and support USDA FDA FSMA regulation, and SQF Standards and regulations.


Key responsibilities:

Maintain HACCP Food Safety System

  • Daily review of operations documentation
  • Maintain completed documentation electronically and generate documents as necessary
  • Critical Control Point(CCP) and HACCP documentation review and signed release before every shipment
  • Organize/lead HACCP Food Safety Team meetings and maintain HACCP Food Safety program
  • Document and report meeting notes to senior leader


Lead and Maintain Food Safety & HACCP Training

  • Responsible for oversight, organization, and maintenance of all HACCP Training
  • Creation/Maintenance of training in LMS system
  • Assign Quality trainings to pre-identified employee groups
  • Ensure all employees are in compliance with required training through LMS System
  • Verify all training documentation is in compliance of the SQF code, USDA, FDA and FSMA regulations and customer requirements


Support USDA, FDA, FSMA regulations, and SQF Standards

  • Maintain and review company USDA/FDA and FSMA programs
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Review and maintain documentation as it pertains to food safety and quality control
  • Responsible for timely distribution of the latest revised documentation to all appropriate personnel
  • Back up Liaison for regulatory agencies, SQF and Customer audits


All other duties as assigned

  • Support the Food Safety & Quality Team
  • Demonstrate adherence to Deli Star core values


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, will consider appropriate experience with a High School Diploma in lieu of degree.
  • 1-3 years previous experience in the manufacturing industry with HACCP and PCQI certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP, USDA, FDA, FSMA as they relate to the food processing industry.
  • Experience with GFSI guidelines and SQF certification is preferred.
  • Exceptional skills to utilize computer word processing & spreadsheet applications (Google Suite).
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, as well as, the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Redzone or Production/Quality software knowledge preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting/Standing: involves sitting at a desk using a computer, walking regularly in the plant in temperatures between 33°- 50°, standing for meetings occasionally
  • Lifting/Carrying: Minimal lifting required, up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual/Auditory requirements: Requires the ability to read documents, use a computer, and communicate effectively with others.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required for training, conferences, and between office locations.
