About the Job

The Print Purchasing Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of print materials and production components to support operational and customer requirements. This role focuses on maximizing production efficiency, maintaining material availability, and minimizing total delivered cost through effective supplier coordination, inventory management, and procurement strategies.


What You'll Do

  • Manage and maintain purchase orders for print materials and production components within assigned areas
  • Procure materials required to meet production schedules and customer demand
  • Coordinate with suppliers to expedite or defer shipments based on changing production needs and customer requirements
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost efficiency and on-time performance
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or discrepancies
  • Prepare and submit payment requests for approval and coordinate timely processing with suppliers
  • Oversee the receipt and documentation of incoming materials to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain accurate records of material certifications and coordinate with Quality Control as needed
  • Verify incoming shipments against packing lists and ensure proper storage and inventory placement
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company policies
  • Support adherence to safety standards within warehouse and production environments
  • Collaborate with warehouse and quality teams to ensure alignment with procurement and inventory objectives
  • Analyze inventory levels, usage trends, and purchasing data to improve efficiency and reduce costs

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing, printing operations, supply chain, and distribution processes
  • Proven experience in purchasing, sourcing, and supplier coordination
  • Effective negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with database systems (e.g., Access) preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
  • Working knowledge of logistics and inventory management principles
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing or print production environment required
  • Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and supporting production operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred, but not required - an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education will be considered
