Position Summary:
The Food Access Manager will oversee and expand Park DuValleโ€™s food access initiatives, including our Food is Medicine programs, community partnerships, and nutrition support services. This position will ensure patients and community members have consistent access to healthy, affordable food, while aligning food programming with PDCHCโ€™s mission of advancing health equity in underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of Park DuValleโ€™s food access and nutrition-related operations.
  • Supervise and support staff and volunteers engaged in food distribution, nutrition programming, and related community initiatives.
  • 3 years minimum knowledge of Food distribution
  • Partner with HR to onboard and train volunteers for food access programs; provide ongoing instruction as needed.
  • Develop and implement a food procurement strategy to secure diverse and sustainable food sources for PDCHC patients and community programs.
  • Collaborate with Development & Communications to coordinate food and fund drives with supporting businesses, faith-based groups, schools, and community organizations.
  • Oversee scheduling and logistics for food donations, grocery rescue, and in-kind deliveries.
  • Implement inventory and distribution procedures to ensure adequate supply, minimize waste, and maintain food quality.
  • Receive and process in-kind donations and government commodities; maintain donor relationships, complete required documentation, and acknowledge contributions.
  • Monitor food program equipment, vehicles, and facilities; coordinate necessary maintenance to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Ensure PDCHC food programs are ServSafe compliant and maintain a professional, welcoming environment for patients and the community.
  • Represent Park DuValle at community events, advocacy initiatives, and partner meetings to promote food access programs, raise awareness, and strengthen partnerships.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of PDCHCโ€™s mission and program growth.
Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the mission and values of Park DuValle Community Health Center.
  • Minimum of 3 yearsโ€™ experience in community health, food distribution, human services, or nonprofit food access programs preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain clean, efficient program areas.
  • Comfortable with hands-on work, including manual labor related to food distribution.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to engage effectively with patients, volunteers, donors, and community partners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Flexibility to multi-task in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and good driving record required.
  • Strong computer and data-management skills; familiarity with donor management software a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
