REFRIGERATION DESIGNER/ENGINEER

Full Time โ€“ Nelsonโ€‘Rudie & Associates, Inc., Minneapolis, MN, US

Requisition ID: 1049 โ€ข Salary Range: $60,000.00 โ€” $150,000.00 annually

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Refrigeration Designer or Engineer, you will design and document commercial and industrial refrigeration systems for food processing, distribution, and cold storage applications. Responsibilities vary with experience level.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design commercial and industrial refrigeration systems including rack systems, condensing units, and piping.
  • Prepare refrigeration drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Conduct refrigeration load calculations and select equipment.
  • Coordinate refrigeration system integration with mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines.
  • Incorporate addenda, RFIs, and approved changes into project documentation.
  • Evaluate refrigerants and configurations for efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Attend project meetings and site visits.
  • Support system startup and commissioning activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Mechanical engineer, designer, or refrigeration technician with any level of experience.
  • Associate or technical degree in refrigeration, mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency or growing interest in AutoCAD, Revit, and refrigeration design software.
  • Familiarity with EPA Section 608, ASHRAE 15, IIAR standards, and applicable codes.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • PE licensure or RETA certification is a plus, not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • U.S. citizenship or valid Green Card.
