Food Service WorkerEuola, is seeking Food Service Workers to support the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in Vancouver, Washington.This is a full-time, on-site position supporting Nutrition and Food Services in a hospital environment. We are seeking dependable, hardworking individuals who enjoy working as part of a team while providing excellent service to our nation's Veterans.Duties and ResponsibilitiesFood Service Workers are expected to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment while providing courteous and professional service to Veterans, visitors, and VA staff.Responsibilities include:Operate commercial dishwashing equipment.Scrape, soak, scour, scrub, wash, rinse, and sanitize pots, pans, dishes, utensils, trays, and cookware.Sort, stack, and rack tray ware for loading into commercial dish machines.Remove clean dishware and store sanitized items in designated storage areas.Clean and sanitize pots, pans, equipment, workstations, sinks, and food service areas.Sweep and mop kitchen and food service floors.Remove food waste, trash, recycling, and compost from kitchen areas.Wash and sanitize food delivery carts.Retrieve soiled meal carts from patient care units.Deliver clean meal carts to designated hospital units.Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and workplace safety procedures.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Interact professionally and respectfully with Veterans, visitors, coworkers, and hospital staff.Perform other related duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsS. Citizen.High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous food service, dishwashing, custodial, restaurant, cafeteria, hospital, or institutional kitchen experience preferred.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the workday.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong customer service and communication skills.Required CertificationCandidates must possess a current Food Handler Certificate from:ServSafe;An ANAB-accredited program; orAn ANSI-approved food-handler certification program.Applicants who do not currently have the required certification must be able to obtain it before their first day of work.Work ScheduleFull-timeOn-siteHospital environmentApplicants should have flexibility to work:WeekdaysWeekendsHolidaysEarly morning or evening shifts
