About the Position:
The Manager, Consumer Insights, plays a critical role in translating consumer, shopper, and market insights into clear business actions across Conair's Beauty & Home Care portfolio.
This role is responsible for leading primary research, synthesizing data from multiple sources, and delivering actionable insights that inform brand strategy, product innovation, messaging, and retail execution. The ideal candidate is both a strong strategic thinker and a handson researcher-comfortable managing projects endtoend while partnering closely with crossfunctional teams.
This role reports into the Consumer Insights leadership team and works collaboratively across Marketing, Product Development, Sales, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Consumer & Shopper Research
  • Lead primary research initiatives, including concept testing, message testing, usage & attitude studies, shopper journey mapping, and postlaunch learning
  • Translate business questions into effective research designs and actionable outputs
  • Manage external research vendors and ensure quality, speed, and value
  • Lead multiple consumer touchpoints through an internal live panel including survey development, consumer video diary creation, and moderate focus group/[NK1]individual consumer interviews.
  • Assist in leading quarterly innovation brainstorming and ideation sessions.
Insight Generation & Storytelling
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources (primary research, syndicated data, shopper data, social listening, reviews) into clear insights
  • Distill complex findings into concise, compelling stories for senior stakeholders
  • Deliver insights with a strong "So What / Now What" orientation
Business Partnership
  • Partner closely with Brand Marketing, Product, and Sales to influence strategy and execution
  • Support innovation pipelines with consumerled learning across all stages
  • Provide insight input for brand positioning, claims, and communication development
Strategic Thinking
  • Monitor and identify emerging consumer and shopper trends relevant to Beauty & Home Care
  • Proactively surface opportunities and risks based on consumer behavior
  • Help shape the broader insights roadmap in alignment with business priorities
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in consumer insights, shopper research, or marketing analytics.
  • Experience managing primary research endtoend
  • Strong skills in survey design, data analysis, and storytelling.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills-comfortable presenting to leadership
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts) and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with shopper journey mapping, segmentation, and media effectiveness studies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with research platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Conjointly, Zappi).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fastpaced environment
  • Collaborative mindset with strong crossfunctional communication skills
  • Comfort working with evolving tools (dashboards, social listening, review analytics)
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods or durable goods market research.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
Environmental Factors:
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
  • This role requires Stamford, CT office on-site presence Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere on Fridays.
