General Description
The America Reads Challenge is a grassroots national campaign that challenges every American to help all our children learn to read, including English Language Learners and students with disabilities.
America Reads sparks collaborations between entire communities - schools and libraries, businesses and community groups, religious institutions, universities, college students and senior citizens - to work together with teachers and parents to teach our children to read.
Multiple opportunities available at Jemison Elementary School.
Essential Job Duties
• Under the supervision of an assigned cooperating teacher, provide students with individual reading tutoring services, helping students develop into independent and confident readers by building their reading and language skills and by providing an encouraging environment for the student to learn
• Assist assigned cooperating teacher with other classroom activities as needed
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• Must have transportation to onsite location
• Possess interest in working with elementary age children
• Must be reliable, punctual, and have strong interpersonal skills
