What are centerfire cartridges?

Centerfire cartridges are a type of ammunition where the primer, used to ignite the gunpowder, is located at the center of the cartridge base. This design is commonly used in most modern rifles, handguns, and shotguns due to its durability and ability to handle higher pressures compared to rimfire cartridges. Centerfire ammunition is reloadable, making it popular among hunters, target shooters, and law enforcement. The robust construction and reliability of centerfire cartridges make them the standard choice for many firearms.
