SUMMARY
The Acid Equipment Operator is responsible for pumping and operating equipment in a safe and satisfactory manner. The role requires proficiency in troubleshooting operational issues, handling hazardous materials safely, and maintaining compliance with all DOT regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform all operational duties proficiently.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and determine whether they are mechanical or process-related, notifying appropriate personnel when needed.
- Safely handle solvents, acids, and other hazardous or potentially hazardous chemicals.
- Report all spills, leaks, injuries, mischarges, and other incidents immediately to the supervisor and/or management.
- Operate in compliance with DOT regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials, following homeland security requirements and guidelines.
- Perform and maintain daily DOT regulatory requirements associated with CDL, including pre/post-trip inspections and driving logs.
- Maintain truck and equipment in a safe and operable condition through daily and periodic mechanical and safety inspections.
- Attend all required training, including safety training, as specified by the supervisor.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) properly and in accordance with company policy.
- Assist in keeping work locations clean by picking up garbage as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- 1 or more years of experience in acid stimulation with an oil service company.
- 1 or more years of commercial driving experience.
- Proficiency in operating acid pumps and auxiliary equipment.
- Compliance with DOT rules and regulations.
- Ability to safely handle hazardous chemicals.
- Basic understanding of well and valve pressures.
- Ability to lift 5-60 pounds and perform physical labor as required.
- Team player with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE:
- 1 or more years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
- Acceptable driving record for a minimum of 3 years.
- Must have a current Medical Card and Safeland certification.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires working in various environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, humidity, and noise levels over 85 decibels.
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials.
- Must be able to wear a respirator and work in confined or elevated spaces as required.
