Responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures by producing, assessing, and evaluating ultrasound images and related data used by physicians to render medical diagnosis. Acquires and evaluates data while exercising discretion and judgment in the performance of clinical examination of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Primary work area is Prenatal Testing Center, but can include and is not limited to: Ultrasound, Emergency Rooms, Operating Rooms, etc. Participates as a team member to ensure appropriate treatment to all co-workers, physicians, and patients. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.Job RequirementsMinimum Education: Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) or Nuchal Translucency Quality Review (NTQR) Certificate of competence within 6 months
Preferred Education: Associate's Degree
Minimum Experience: Experience required to become ARDMS certification board-eligible
1 year experience performing Level II Detailed Obstetrical Exams
Preferred Experience: 1 - 2 years experience as an ultrasound technician
