Description

Pacific Wound Center is a leading podiatry practice in the Stockton area dedicated to helping people of all ages and lifestyles get back to enjoying the activities they love. 

Our team is looking for a hard-working medical assistant who will work with the physicians and other members of the practice by performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties. This person will work to fulfill patient needs and ensure smooth patient flow within the practice.  


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet patients on the phone and in person 
  • Place patients in the exam rooms 
  • Take vital signs of patients 
  • Assist and setup up for examination, treatment, and procedures 
  • Keep accurate patient files 
  • Apply dressing, bandages, and splints as ordered by podiatrist 
  • Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment 
  • Maintain HIPAA 

Requirements

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision 
  • Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office 
  • Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy 
  • Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties 
  • Customer services skills 
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures 


Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 
  • Current American Heart Association CPR Certification 
  • Certification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of training 
  • EMR Experience, Athena experience is a plus
