Job description

Homestead Home Health Care Services is seeking a reliable, compassionate and experienced Floating MedTech/Caregiver to provide care and assist our residents with activities of daily living and provide companionship and emotional support across Rochester Hills/Sterling Heights areas.

This is a Full-Time role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable stepping in where needed to ensure continuity of care, along with passion for helping others, excellent communication skills, and genuine relationships with seniors. Rather than being assigned to a single community, you’ll serve as a key team member providing coverage for call-ins, vacations, and staffing gaps.

This is an on-call position with no set schedule, we are looking for someone who's available for all shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications accurately and safely in accordance with state regulations and company policies
  • Assisting clients with activities of daily living, specifically but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, etc.
  • Step in to cover shifts across multiple communities as needed (including short-notice call-ins).
  • Providing companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping.
  • Reporting any changes in the resident's condition to the supervisor.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with families, support services, and coworkers of Homestead.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be available for a flexible schedule.
  • Able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Previous experience as a Medication Technician, or similar role in Senior Living.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Every other weekend is required.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel up to 25-30 miles between assigned communities.
  • Valid Driver’s license or ID.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to arrive on time for every shift.
