Job description

Locum Physician – OB/GYN

An excellent opportunity for an OB/GYN physician to provide a mix of clinic, hospital, and call coverage in a supportive environment. This role is available due to physician retirement and ongoing community need.

Location: Jackson, Michigan

Position Type: Locum Physician – OB/GYN

Practice Highlights
  • Clinic hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • 24-hour hospital call coverage (shared with existing OB/GYNs and Family Health team)
  • Team includes 2 physicians and 2.5 APPs in clinic
  • 10 exam rooms, onsite lab, and ultrasound available
  • Support staff includes RNs, MAs, and front desk staff
  • Documentation: Epic
  • Trauma Level 2 facility
Candidate Requirements
  • Board Certified in OB/GYN – REQUIRED
  • Michigan License – REQUIRED
  • BLS & ACLS – REQUIRED
  • Clean background and ability to meet credentialing standards
Schedule & Coverage
  • Clinic + 24-hour call coverage
  • Credentialing timeframe: 90–120 days (temps available upon request)
  • Coverage needed as soon as credentialing is complete
Required Procedures
  • Low & high-risk pregnancy management
  • Routine deliveries – Vaginal, Low Forceps, C-Section decision-making
  • Complicated deliveries – C-Sections, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, VBACs
  • Gynecology procedures – IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, Cryosurgery, LEEP, Surgical GYN (open)
  • Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
Compensation & Benefits
  • Call-back hours:
    • 8–12 hour shifts include 2 gratis hours
    • 24-hour shifts include 4 gratis hours
