Job description

Job Summary
The Floating Medical Assistant is responsible for providing top-quality patient care and administrative support across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and thrives in a fast-paced, mobile work environment.
This position will cover both our Bethlehem and Gilbert locations.
Essential Functions:
  • Travel to assigned clinic locations as needed to provide medical assistant support.
  • Room patients and updating patient information into EMR system
  • Transcribe for providers during exams
  • Assist with biopsies and select surgical procedures
  • Educate patients on treatment plans
  • Assist with cosmetic procedures
  • Complete prior authorizations for prescriptions, biologics, and procedures
  • Stock rooms with necessary supplies
  • Report biopsy, culture and/or lab results to patients via phone if directed by provider
  • Sanitize all work areas throughout the day and after each patient
  • Send patient visit notes to referring provider/PCP
  • Answer incoming calls when not in a room with a provider
  • Assist office staff with front end tasks if needed
  • Assist with training new Medical Assistants
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in dermatology or traveling role.
  • Ability to travel frequently to various locations (reliable transportation required).
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service attitude
  • Experience with practice management software (ie EMA) and Microsoft Office Word and Excel

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
