Job description

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a full-time physician - hired at the academic rank of Assistant Professor, appointment stream. This is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified OB/GYN to join a well-established OB/GYN Department. The OB/GYN department is home to an academic obstetrics and gynecology residency program with a total of 40 OB/GYN residents, as well as subspecialty fellowships in maternal-fetal medicine, urogynecology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, medical genetics, gynecologic oncology, minimally invasive surgery, infectious diseases, and family planning.
Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI) is an independent research Institute and one of the largest in the nation that focuses on reproductive biology, and women's and infant's health. Since its inception in 1992, MWRI has been a leader in funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH) and other sources. Opportunities are available to work with members of MWRI on specific research projects. Time to pursue individual research is available.
Magee-Women's Hospital of UPMC is the regional referral center for obstetric and gynecologic patients, performing approximately 11,000 deliveries per year, with an active inpatient and outpatient program. UPMC is a nationally ranked medical center that serves as the regional referral center for multiple specialties.
Qualifications:
  • MD or DO is required.
  • Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability and experience in advanced study and research. Minimum of two years of experience in guiding and mentoring students.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience with patients in an outpatient and hospital setting.
  • Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
