The Medical Assistant will provide essential support in outpatient clinic settings by preparing patients, assisting clinical staff, and maintaining smooth office operations. Working within a medium-sized medical team of 6 to 15 members, they report to the Medical Office Manager and occasionally travel between clinic locations.
13 Week Contract with the option to extend or go perm
Hours: Varies between 8 am - 6 pm; Monday - Friday; Weekends maybe required due to Urgent Care
Clinic Settings: Urgent Care, Primary Care, Family Care,
Bilingual Spanish
Back Office and Front Office experience
Possible Floating maybe required
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Measure and record vital signs accurately
- Maintain and update medical records
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently
- Assist in administering medications as directed
- Process insurance information and handle billing tasks
- Educate patients on clinical instructions and follow-up care
- Provide clinical support during medical procedures
- Sterilize medical equipment to maintain hygiene standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical assisting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS certification
- Medical Assistant diploma or equivalent training
- Proficiency in patient care and medical terminology
- Experience measuring vital signs and using Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Knowledge of infection control and HIPAA compliance
- Strong communication and organizational skills
