Job description

Responsible for providing patient-centered, team-based obstetric and gynecologic care within the allowable scope of practice. This includes comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services such as prenatal and postpartum care, well-woman exams, contraceptive management, gynecologic procedures, and the evaluation and management of acute and chronic OB/GYN conditions. The OB/GYN Provider works collaboratively with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health staff, and care coordination teams to ensure high-quality, culturally responsive care consistent with Camino Health Centerโ€™s mission and values. This position may also support the Chief Medical Officer/Medical Director in the supervision of and consultation with advanced practice providers, as designated.


Ensures that the core values of Camino Health Centerโ€”dignity, excellence, service, and justiceโ€”are carried out in daily practice.


Essential Functions:


Clinical Quality

  • Provide comprehensive OB/GYN care, including prenatal and postpartum care, contraceptive management, gynecologic evaluations, and office-based procedures within scope of practice.
  • Utilize OB care-gap reports, huddles, and integration workflows to support clinical quality measures and continuity of care.
  • Provide patient education and coordinate specialty referrals, including Maternal-Fetal Medicine, urogynecology, and gynecologic oncology, as appropriate.


Patient Experience

  • Deliver compassionate, culturally responsive OB/GYN care aligned with Camino Health Centerโ€™s core values.
  • Support patient satisfaction initiatives and assist in the timely resolution of patient concerns and grievances.


Access/Utilization

  • Provide timely access to OB/GYN services, including urgent clinical needs.
  • Participate in call coverage as assigned and support efforts to optimize appointment availability and access.

Supervision/Leadership

  • Provide clinical support and consultation to nurse practitioners and physician assistants involved in OB/GYN care delivery, as designated.
  • Promote interdisciplinary teamwork and participate in OB/GYN program development and process improvement efforts.


Documentation

  • Complete accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation, including global OB documentation, within established timelines.
  • Close encounters in accordance with protocol and support inbox management and coverage as needed.


Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO); completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency.

Experience: Minimum of two years preferred; strong new graduates may be considered.

Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems required, including accurate clinical documentation, order entry, care coordination workflows, and timely inbox management.

License: Board-certified or board-eligible in OB/GYN; valid California medical license; DEA; BLS certification; NRP preferred.
