About This Role

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Float Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the growth and development of children. This role is essential in helping to implement lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, and promote literacy and math skills among students. Experienced in working in a licensed child care center.


Part Time hours available of 7:00 - 1:00 OR 8:00 - 1:30 PM OR 12:00 -6:00.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
  • Support childhood development by encouraging students' social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a positive learning environment for all students.
  • Provide assistance with math concepts through hands-on activities and guided practice.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, eating times and outside experiences to ensure safety and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning.

  • Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in education.
  • Experience in behavior management techniques to support diverse learning needs.
  • Strong skills in lesson planning, literacy education, childcare, special education, and math instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff members.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and contributing positively to their educational experience.
