Job Description SummaryAircraft Engine Flight Data is a critical strategic data set for GE Aerospace, providing the business with accurate real time data on the engine operation that powers our Remote Monitoring & Diagnostics Service, technical product support and engine design. This drives engine reliability, fleet stability, and CSA contract profitability with significant business impact.
As part of the Fleet Support team, the Senior Director, Flight Data and Digital Systems, is responsible for the leadership of strategy, processes and daily management of Flight data for the global fleet of 50,000+ commercial engines across all product lines. They are responsible for defining the long-term business strategy for improving Flight data management including functional design and ownership of the related Digital systems and partners closely with functions including Customer Experience, Digital Technology, Data Science, Engineering, Product Lines and Lean Leadership to deliver successful outcomes that drive profitable business growth.Job Description

Job Description

  • Define the strategic vision for strategy for digital products and services for Flight Data and Digital Systems that support GE Aerospace business objectives.
  • Lead design and development of Flight Data Digital Systems, corresponding business cases, product roadmaps and drive their implementation and adoption to quality, on time and to budget.
  • Lead the management of all flight data processes, activities and operational workload including service level performance metrics, data quality metrics and training programs
  • Establish and ensure adherence to our enterprise data quality and data governance framework for flight data to achieve the required level of quality, consistency, accuracy, validity and completeness of engine information.
  • Maintain effective working relationships built on a foundation of trust with cross functional business leaders, stakeholders, airline customers and external business partners, including Safran, to meet overall strategic business objectives.
  • Promote lean continuous improvement mindset using FLIGHT DECK methodology to ensure improved quality, operational effectiveness, and productivity.
  • Mentor, coach and develop team members on flight data management best practices and information quality standards.
  • Lead with an inclusive approach showing respect for people, empowering the team, driving accountability and coaching them to grow their skills and develop their careers.
  • Be a passionate advocate for customer success and promote GE Aerospace flight data strategy and solutions to customers globally.
  • Provide prompt and effective customer support to solve any customer issues that may arise, using FLIGHT DECK and RCCA methods.
  • Develop clear executive summaries and status updates for Sr. Leadership, including key trends, at-risk items, escalation needs, and closure performance.
  • Ensure conformance to all applicable GE standards, policies, and guidelines including Safety and Integrity.

Required Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's Degree, 10 + years' experience in Engineering, Services or Support in Aviation or a similar complex high technology business, Digital System design and operation, Flight Data management, Data Governance or Enterprise Data Management.
  • This role will be based in West Chester, Ohio, USA.
