The Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) Manager is responsible for leading and managing HR technology teams and solutions that support the strategic, operational, and transformational goals of UCHealth. This role provides leadership for HRIS staff, ensuring the delivery of reliable, scalable, and innovative technology solutions that enhance the employee experience, improve organizational effectiveness, and enable data-driven decision-making across Human Resources.

The HRIS Manager serves as a key liaison between Human Resources, Information Services & Technology (IS&T), and business stakeholders to align technology capabilities with enterprise priorities. The role drives operational excellence through effective resource management, team development, governance practices, system optimization, and continuous process improvement. The manager ensures that HR technology platforms, integrations, reporting capabilities, and support services meet organizational requirements while maintaining compliance, security, and service quality standards.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 

  • Five to ten years of experience supporting Human Resource Information Systems, along with prior experience managing a Human Resource Information Systems, business systems, or enterprise application teams. Previous experience with Oracle Cloud Fusion strongly preferred. 

  • Progressive experience leading HRIS, business systems, or enterprise application teams.  

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical professionals and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of HR technology platforms, system integrations, data management, reporting, and analytics.

  • Experience with project management methodologies, process improvement practices, and organizational change management.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution in a complex healthcare or large enterprise environment.

  • Ability to work onsite at UCHealth locations throughout the tristate region.

Leadership and People Management

  • Lead, develop, and mentor HRIS team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to support employee growth and career development.
  • Identify skill gaps and create development plans that enhance technical expertise, business knowledge, and leadership capabilities within the team.
  • Promote employee engagement and cultivate a high-performing, customer-focused work environment.

Strategic Planning and Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner with Human Resources leaders, business stakeholders, and IS&T leadership to define and execute HR technology strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships across UCHealth by understanding business priorities, workforce challenges, and operational requirements.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on HR systems capabilities, emerging technologies, industry trends, and opportunities to improve business outcomes.
  • Contribute to long-term technology roadmaps, digital transformation initiatives, and enterprise workforce technology planning.

HRIS Operations and Service Delivery

  • Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, support, and optimization of HR technology systems and related applications.
  • Ensure service delivery metrics, system availability, support responsiveness, and operational performance consistently meet established service level expectations.
  • Monitor workload distribution, resource utilization, and team capacity to ensure efficient delivery of projects, enhancements, and operational support.
  • Establish and maintain operational processes, governance standards, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and service excellence.

Project and Portfolio Management

  • Lead the planning, prioritization, and execution of HRIS projects, system enhancements, implementations, upgrades, and integration efforts.
  • Utilize established Project Management Office (PMO) methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage competing priorities, risks, dependencies, and resource allocation to achieve project objectives within scope, budget, and timeline expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise initiatives and organizational change management efforts.

Process Improvement and Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to streamline business processes, automate workflows, and improve data quality through technology solutions.
  • Leverage analytics, operational metrics, and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, vendor solutions, and industry best practices to enhance HR service delivery and operational effectiveness.
  • Champion innovation that improves employee, manager, and HR user experiences.

Compliance, Data Governance, and Risk Management

  • Ensure HR systems and processes comply with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, privacy standards, and data governance practices.
  • Maintain appropriate controls to protect sensitive employee information and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Partner with HR, Compliance, Audit, Security, and Legal teams to address risks and ensure adherence to applicable regulations and standards.
  • Support audit activities, issue remediation efforts, and system controls documentation.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Oversee HR data management, reporting, dashboard development, and analytical capabilities that support business decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and meaningful workforce data is available to leaders and stakeholders.
  • Drive adoption of reporting tools and analytics solutions that improve workforce planning, operational insights, and organizational performance.
