Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center (VBPC), a UHS facility is a 100-bed freestanding psychiatric hospital located near the beautiful resort area of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a short 10-minute drive to the ocean front.  VBPC offers acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults 18 years and older. The hospital is accessible 24 hours a day for admissions, and includes mental health assessments and an excellent referral network. Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center currently has a Per Diem/Flex Receptionist position available.  Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays.  Occasionally weekday (day/evening) shifts may be available.
The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

• Answers telephone switchboard
• Screens and directs calls
• Provides communication services to all departments
• Processes guests and greets visitors and announces them to the proper department
• Performs clerical duties as assigned
• Scheduling
• Training new receptionist as needed

Qualifications

The following are the job requirements for the Per Diem/Flex Receptionist position:

 High School graduate or equivalent.

• One or more years of experience as a Receptionist, switchboard operator, and customer service front desk position; preferable in a healthcare setting.
• Must possess knowledge of telecommunication systems and paging equipment.
• Must have positive interpersonal communication skills and have and utilize legible handwriting.
• Must have basic Microsoft Office knowledge.
