Holt of California is proud to be part of the elite group of Caterpillar dealers worldwide. We sell and service a wide-variety of equipment Including Large and Small Construction Tractors, Forklifts, and Prime/Stand-by-Power Generation.

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN PLEASANT GROVE, CA. 

SUMMARY

To develop and manage branch operations.  Provides operational and sales support to the CRS branch locations. This position will travel to each of the CRS locations to ensure companywide (or CRS wide) uniformity, while ensuring each branch bests serves its territory. This position sets policies and procedures for CRS and ensures customers and employees are highly satisfied.  Additionally, has branch profitability responsibility and ensures rental fleet performance.  This position is a leadership position, which sets the tone for urgency and hustle while creating a world-class rental operation.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Operations Manager will be successful by setting clear expectations for the branch employees and managers relative to our overall goals.
  • The Operations Manager will be responsible for assisting the Vice President on developing and executing a comprehensive business plan that includes strategies for revenue and profitability goals.
  • Participation in monthly financial review of the division and stores.
  • Ride with rental sales reps, as needed, to help develop their territory management, sales skills, call penetration and diversity, and developing large projects and customers.
  • Provide input to Sales Rep regarding their performance and inform Branch Manger and Vice President of their progress.
  • Work with each Branch Manager in developing a sales strategy for each individual stores market.
  • Attend quarterly branch sales meetings to discuss key strategies, problem accounts, pricing issues.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive training programs for all CRS employees for product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Work with the Vice President and the Inventory Manager (IM) on annual fleet plan, Cat and allied purchases, and rental barometer reporting.
  • Ensure consistency across all stores rental counters.
  • Work with Branch Managers to help resolve operational and sales issues when they come up.
  • Communicate any and all operational issues to Vice President when they come up so long term fixes can be implemented.
  • Work with CRS service manager to help resolve maintenance issues at the rental stores.
  • Travel to the various Cat rental stores as often as needed to ensure success utilizing a standardized approach.
  • Responsible for working with Branch Manger on all aspects of facility and yard.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of five year’s rental business and rental products experience. Leadership and teamwork are critical.  This position works directly with several positions outside of CRS.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have good PC skills and 10 key capabilities.
  • Must have proficient computer skills. Excellent customer service, organizational and communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks / projects.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Must have a valid California driver’s license and a clean DMV driving report.

COMPENSATION

Wage Range $120,000 to $140,000 Yearly

Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
