Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
TAS Energy Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fixed Assets Accountant to oversee the accounting, reporting, control, and lifecycle management of fixed assets across manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with GAAP, maintaining accurate asset records, supporting capital project accounting, and partnering with operations, engineering, procurement, and finance teams to optimize asset utilization and financial performance.
The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing experience, technical accounting knowledge, ERP system expertise, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fixed Asset Accounting & Reporting
• Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets, from approval through disposal including capitalization, transfers and impairment testing.
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger and ensure reconciliation to the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reporting packages.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal controls.
• Maintain reconciliations of capital expenditures (CapEx) and asset classifications.
• Monitor construction-in-progress (CIP) projects and coordinate timely asset capitalization.
Manufacturing & Operational Support
• Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and project management teams to track capital projects and equipment installations.
• Conduct periodic physical inventory audits of machinery, tooling, equipment, and facilities assets.
• Analyze asset utilization and support operational efficiency initiatives.
• Ability to reconcile between multiple reporting systems
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to capital expenditures and depreciation.
Compliance & Controls
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls over fixed assets and capital spending.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with tax depreciation requirements and property tax reporting.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices in asset management.
Systems & Process Improvement
• Maintain and improve fixed asset processes within ERP systems.
• Support automation initiatives and reporting enhancements.
Create and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation related to asset accounting.
JOB SKILLS:

EDUCATION & TRAINING:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• 3+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience with significant exposure to fixed assets and manufacturing operations.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing, energy, EPC, modular construction, or heavy equipment environments preferred.
• Preferred FAS Infor experience
• Strong understanding of capital project accounting and depreciation methodologies.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of tax depreciation and property tax compliance.
• Experience implementing or improving fixed asset modules within ERP systems.
• Time management and ability to work with others
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading. The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
