Job Description

Position- Java Full Stack Developer

Location- McLean, Virginia

Duration- Full Time

Job Description:

Develop, modify, or update applications used by business units or infrastructure units. Lead, or play lead technical role in development teams' efforts to determine unit needs and business processes that are automated by the application. Participate in or review all of the steps in the software development life cycle to create and modify the software.

Key Job Functions:

Participate with team of technical staff and business managers or practitioners in the business unit to determine systems requirements and functionalities needed in large/complex development project. 

Assess and develop high level design requirements for project and communicate in writing or in meetings with development team. Assess detailed specifications against design requirements. 

Review coding done to advance application upgrade, extension, or other development. Analyze application for data integrity issues. 

Develop test protocols or plan for testing revised application and review test results. 

Serve as project lead or lead technical staff in course of application development project 

May mentor less experienced technical staff; may use high end development tools to assist or facilitate development process.


Education:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required 

Minimum Experience:

4+ years of related experience 

Strong algorithmic, analytical skills and critical thinking with strong focus on problem solving and converting business requirements into solution specification, design and solution. 

Extensive experience in architecture and design, implementation of multi-tier enterprise applications and experience in medium to large scale enterprise projects. 

Experience in developing frameworks to solve business domain specific problems. 

Extensive experience in JAVA, C++, Object Oriented Design Patterns. 

Hands-on experience in Unix Bash shell scripting and SQL. 

Experience in working Agile/Scrum environment. 

Highly skilled, motivated team player with excellent communication and inter-personal skills. 

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment. 

Experience in mentoring and coaching junior team members and Help project manager and develop manager to define project and plan activities and dependencies. 

secondary mortgage industry knowledge, fixed income risk management knowledge is preferred, 

Hands on experience with following areas are must, 

Experience with JAVA, C++ and OOD patterns. 

Experience in working with open source libraries. (JUNIT, J Log, Spring, Ant, Tomcat, Xalan, Xerces, Velocity, BOOST) 

Basic Fixed Income Instrument and risk management knowledge. 

Algorithmic thinking and Problem solving skills. 

Hands on experience or knowledge with following areas are preferred, 

Fixed Income Risk Management with specialization on mortgage backed securities (MBS, STRIP and CMO,) Derivative instruments. (FUTURE, SWAP and SWAPTION) 

Angular JS, J Query (Other AJAX UI framework)    

Required Technical Skills:

JAVA, C++, shell scripting, SQL, Agile/Scrum
