Job description

THE POSITION As a Fiscal Technician with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, you will play a key part in keeping financial systems running properly. This role offers a steady pace, meaningful responsibilities, and a chance to make an impact behind the scenes. You will support the daily financial needs of District 11 while learning valuable skills along the way.

Your contributions will help ensure that statewide transportation efforts stay on track. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position plays a key role in supporting financial activities that keep District 11 running smoothly. The work focuses on accurate processing, reviewing, and monitoring of fiscal information across various systems.

As a Fiscal Technician, you will perform the following duties: Realignment Tasks: Realign encumbrances, transactions, and adjustments between fiscal years System Processing: Process invoices, payments, and adjustments in SAP using required transactions Error Resolution: Correct electronic document issues and research coding errors to support accurate data Account Monitoring: Monitor utility accounts, receivables, revenues, and refunds to ensure timely and accurate processing Purchasing Support: Assist personnel with requisitions, purchase orders, service contracts, and provide backup support for purchasing functions Quality Assurance: Review and audit purchasing card transactions and act as Access Online Administrator for coding accuracy Interested in learning more. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week, after successful completion of probationary period and per manager's approval. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bridgeville.

The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Fiscal Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration): or Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an Associate degree in accounting or business administration; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
