Facilities Coordinator

Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Facilities Coordinator at the First United Methodist Church of Rockwall will cover for the Director of Operations during their days off and will collaborate with the Maintenance person in the day-to-day operations of the facilities. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment, acting as a liaison with outside contractors for specialized problems, and performing non-technical general building maintenance, light custodial tasks, and minor repairs.

Job Responsibilities:

· Assist the Maintenance person with routine maintenance and repairs as needed.

· Perform general labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and moving materials; run errands to support projects.

· Support the Director of Operations with coordination of outside vendors.

· Aid the Director of Operations in implementing projects as required.

· Paint, patch drywall, and handle other minor repairs under supervision.

· Respond promptly to emergency situations and summon additional help when necessary.

· Manage and process work order requests, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.

· Conduct housekeeping functions and maintain the professional appearance of the property, equipment, and common areas (as needed).

· Assist in maintaining the grounds of the facility or property, including tasks like raking, sweeping, leaf blowing, or snow removal (as needed).

· Cover duties in the absence of the Director of Operations, including opening buildings on Sunday mornings (at least one Sunday a month).

· Perform other tasks as needed.

Job Skills and Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required

· Must have a general knowledge of the United Methodist Tradition and Wesleyan Theology

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

· Responsibility for follow-up on actions based on various team projects.

· High organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Ability to exercise patience and flexibility required

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong time management and organizational skills.

· High energy and physical stamina; ability to stand for extended periods.

· Proficient in multitasking and following up on tasks.

Job Status:

Non-exempt, 10 hours per week
