Commercial Project Manager / Project Manager Finance Our steadily growing High-Voltage Substation group based out of Raleigh, NC (USA) is looking for a highly driven, self-motivated, and solution-oriented Commercial Project Manager/ Project Manager Finance who will be responsible for the successful financial controlling and reporting of construction projects. You will work together with our technical project management organization with the main objective of executing the projects according to our contractual obligations, project management, and financial reporting standards.
How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
• Assume full responsibility for all project-related financial matters, including accounting, legal, tax, and foreign currency topics throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage and optimize project financial performance, including monthly forecasting of revenue, profit margin, and cash flow, while ensuring accurate revenue recognition and contractual invoicing.
• Prepare and maintain commercial project documentation and reporting, ensuring accuracy of project financial data during execution and for regular project status reviews.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS 15, local GAAP requirements, reporting guidelines, and internal controls, while maintaining accurate cost calculations, pricing, and project financial records in systems such as SAP and iTWO PM Imp@ct.
• Support the Project Manager in risk and opportunity management, contract interpretation, negotiating changes with customers or vendors, minimizing non-conformance costs, and ensuring proper management of guarantees, bonds, and project securities.
• Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, including implementing lessons learned, supporting more accurate tender calculations through early project involvement, and collaborating with Procurement and other stakeholders to ensure proper contract flow-down conditions.
What You Bring (requirements)
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related financial field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in a similar financial project or commercial project role; project management certification (e.g., PMP or IPMA) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS, with the ability to read, interpret, and apply contractual terms and regulations; experience supporting construction projects is considered an advantage.
• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and financial analysis, combined with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Self-driven and detail-oriented team player with strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, willingness to travel (~5%), and professional working proficiency in English.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
