Job description

Overview

The Transition Project Manager II is responsible for the planning, implementation and tactical execution of all project activities on a transition project, either individually or through supervision of less senior project staff. Transition Project Manager II's may also bring a specific technical expertise, developed through "real time" project management experience required to perform a specific task order or project.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a front-facing representative, interacting with clients and stakeholders while demonstrating a clear understanding of services delivered
  • Supervise and provide guidance to project staff in all matters involving written and verbal communication
  • Take accountability for development of project implementation plan
  • Support and help guide move management planning efforts
  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of staff relocation and move execution
  • Assist in developing and executing move plans, schedules, and logistics
  • Serve as a key liaison between project teams, clients, and move management resources
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day coordination of move activities, addressing issues as they arise
  • Maintain a strong awareness of project scope to effectively support planning and execution of relocation efforts
  • Operate in a role heavily focused on move management, ensuring efficient, organized, and client-focused delivery
  • Communicate information at multiple levels within the client's organization
  • Facilitate project meetings, formal and informal, with the owner, design team, vendors, etc.
  • Establish project protocols for project specific types of documentation
  • Work independently to identify required tasks and initiate activity
  • Present information to the client in facilitation of decision making
  • Implement the Furniture, Fixture and Equipment plan
  • Plan and implement competitive procurements as required
  • Prepare project monthly reports including costs, schedule, safety, etc.
  • Monitor adherence to the contract
  • Conduct performance reviews for direct reports
  • Assert the authority and decision making required for managing the assigned project or project task
  • Gain exposure to financial project management and accountability
  • Provide direction to sub-contractors as required and consistent with the client's direction
  • Act as owner's representative in managing onsite vendors during activation and move timeframes
Qualifications

Experience/Education

  • BS or MS degree in logistics or related field
  • 5-7 years of project management or specialized experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel Powerpoint, Project, Access, and Visio)
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Construction document and drawing literate with knowledge of all phases of construction
  • Knowledge of BIM360, CADD, Bluebeam
  • Detailed knowledge of at least one TPM market sector, such as healthcare, government/military, research and development/laboratory, or higher education
  • Ability to travel and flexibility to work weekends and evenings as necessary

***This initial project is located in Milwaukee, WI; non-local candidates should expect up to 60% travel both initially and on future projects.***

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For Milwaukee, WI this ranges from $105,000.00-$125,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
