The Financial Programmer is an integral part of Lathamโ€™s Technology & Information Services team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining financial and accounting applications for firmwide use, while participating in consultations with financial development, project management, and finance/accounting team members regarding system requirements and functionality. This role will be located in our Global Services Office in Downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. 


Other key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering scalable financial applications, APIs, and cloud-native services supporting critical business operations
  • Driving modernization of legacy systems and building next-generation cloud-based solutions
  • Owning technical solutions end-to-end (design through deployment), ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability
  • Developing high-quality solutions using modern frameworks (.NET, React, TypeScript) and engineering best practices, including testing and automation
  • Leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development, testing, and documentation
  • Contributing to architecture decisions, including service-oriented and event-driven systems
  • Partnering with business and technical stakeholders to deliver practical, scalable solutions
  • Improving engineering practices, including CI/CD pipelines, code quality, and development standards
  • Supporting production systems through monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Mentoring team members and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and engineering excellence

Weโ€™d love to hear from you if you:

    • Demonstrate strong experience in modern full-stack development (C#, .NET, React, TypeScript, SQL)
    • Have built or modernized applications using scalable architectures (APIs, microservices, event-driven systems)
    • Possess experience with cloud-native development using Azure
    • Demonstrate comfort using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity
    • Enjoy solving complex problems and collaborating across teams
    • Thrive in Agile environments and value continuous improvement

And have:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience developing enterprise applications
  • Strong experience with C#, .NET, and modern application architecture
  • Experience with React, TypeScript, and modern front-end development
  • Experience building cloud-native solutions in Azure
  • Strong SQL and database design skills
  • Experience working with REST APIs and distributed systems
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development tools (GitHub preferred)
  • Experience using modern AI-assisted development tools and practices
